John Davidson - Counsellor 6. MBACP accred.

Working alongside individuals and couples, John helps people gain a greater understanding of their situation and themselves. Further, he helps them develop the resilience to better cope in the future.

John uses a variety of counselling disciplines, at the core of which is the more traditional psychodynamic approach. With this and behavioural and cognitive approaches, he helps clients explore their situation, feelings and actions, and how these have been shaped by past experiences.

John is located in the village of Coates; 5 minutes drive from Cirencester, and 15 minutes from Stroud and from Tetbury.

Qualifications

Most training has been with Gloucestershire Counselling Service's WPF courses:

• Certificate in Counselling Skills
• Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling
• Graduate Award in Psychodynamic Counselling

Other training and study includes:

• Time-Limited Therapy, primarily brief psychodynamic therapy and solution-focused counselling
• Relationship Counselling
• Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
• Bereavement counselling 
• Clinical Assessment
• Transactional Analysis
