Memory walk

Do something great - walk to fight dementia

By Charlotte Fantelli

The Alzheimer's Society, in partnership with Bupa, are organising their 'Memory Walk' this September, and we are urging you to get involved.

Walks are taking place all across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. And if you cannot find one near you, you can even organise your own!

The money goes a long way to supporting dementia sufferers in the community, every penny earned makes a huge difference. As little as £50 will allow five people with dementia to attenda one hour 'Dementia Cafe' session, at which they will receive companionship, advice and information. While £104 could allow callers from anywhere in the country to call the national Alzheimer's Society Dementia Helpline each week at their local rate.

As the video itself says:

Some people walk to remeber a loved one,

Others walk to do something great,

All walk with one common goal,

To fight dementia,

Walk with us this September.

So who or what will you walk for? Click on the video and go to memorywalk.org.uk to find your local walk - and be part of something great.
