Center Parcs Longleat

Alison Notman, a subscriber to Uncovered, told us about her favourite spa retreat.

“I am an avid fan of swimming and the whole spa experience, so when I went to Center Parcs Longleat Forest two years ago, I was excited to try what they had on offer.

Not having any children and having little interest in sailing or cycling, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a place that is often viewed as being a family leisure resort.

I was very blessed to find a great offer, I found an ‘out of season’ deal within the budget I was looking to spend and I went with an open mind.

When I got there I instantly felt calmer as I entered the beautiful surroundings. The forest, the fact that cars are not allowed around much of the parc, and the lodges being so secluded and spread out made it remarkably quiet considering there were many guests.

As my break continued I familiarised myself with the spa, the wonderful ‘aqua sana’ where I could chose from so many different sauna, steam room and hydro experiences that ranged from crystal steam rooms to experience showers, which really were a wonderful experience.  No under 14s were allowed into the spa area, so even though this is a great getaway for families it makes the experiencethat much better for adults.

I have since been back in December 2010 and am about to return again – and it’s only January 2011!  I really find this is a great break and wonderful value for money, I would recommend it to families and singles alike.”

Breaks at Center Parcs start from £249, summer breaks from £499 www.centerparcs.co.uk
