Borderline Personality Disorder and Me

by Jade S

Hello everyone! I am so pleased to have the opportunity to write for you, the Reader, and I hope that I can be of some sort of help to you in your journey to wellness. Mental health is especially important in today's world, with the stress of work, family, school, politics, economics...I could list stressors for days. It is vital that we take the time out of our day to care for ourselves and our mentality. This includes the body and soul, our brain and our mind.

To begin, I would like to introduce myself. I am 24 years old, and I have had Borderline Personality Disorder for about ten years now. During this time I have studied everything I have been able to find on the disorder; visited numerous doctors, therapists, psychiatrists, etc.; interviewed and interacted with other borderline patients; and graduated with a degree in psychology so that I would be qualified one day to give my opinion on disorders like BPD.

Borderline has run and ruined a good chunk of my life, and yet it has brought me to this place, where I can write in order to help someone else who suffers like I do, if only by giving them a small piece of information I have learned in the process of healing. I want to encourage you, Reader, and remind you that there IS hope for those who suffer from BPD and other mental disorders. And most importantly of all...you are not alone.

This is so encouragesing, you are so young and already achieved so much with BPD. It is a subject that brings so much.prejudices, you have once again proved its nothing to be ashamed of. I will watch this with interest. Sarah x
